Comment I agree that the church is beautiful and photographed well, but this picture taken by the same photographer on the same day looks more representative. In my opinion, a simpler composition with no disturbing elements, such as the people near the right edge and the large tree obscuring the western side of the church, is more compelling. I think both have their advantages but this one is the clearer FP to me. The other one doesn't show as many interesting features of the church, such as the dramatic western facade, and makes the whole building appear somewhat short and squat, whereas the picture I nominated has the church elevated at the top of the steps and lit with warmer light, which makes it look much more inspiring. I won't offer an alternative as I am not convinced the other is an FP but others are of course welcome to nominate it if they disagree with my appraisal.
