Thursday 4th July 2024 will be a historic General Election for all the wrong reasons. For the first time, voters in Scotland and some parts of England will be turned away from polling stations, as they try to elect their representatives, for lacking the right forms of ID. See the list of acceptable ID.<\/a><\/p>\n

Voter ID was first used in an English local election in 2023. We know at least\u00a014,000 eligible voters were denied<\/a> their democratic right to cast their ballots in the local elections. How many will be turned away in the general election?<\/p>\n
