  • I am not sure why you are commenting this kind of thing on nearly every recent nomination on this page. The picture is probably cropped but I don't see why that is an issue.     Thank you for your question. For FP, it's not enough for an image to simply look good; technical quality is also part of the evaluation. Cropping an image isn't necessarily a problem, but if a file has been compressed or significantly reduced in size, it's fair to ask if a better version exists.     I agree with you that visible quality is the most important thing, without a doubt. However, we judge phone images quite strictly for technical limitations such as noise, processing and compression. For consistency, I think it's also fair to ask technical questions about files from high-end cameras, especially when the uploaded image is well below the camera's native resolution.     Thanks, Basile. Your values ​​are correct; the file is approximately 6000 pixels wide and 7.62 MB. My question arose from comparing it to the native resolution of the EOS R5: 6001 × 3840 represents approximately 51% (half) of the camera's total 45 MP resolution, which isn't necessarily a problem. I agree that the file size alone doesn't indicate harmful compression if no artifacts are visible. My only remaining question was whether a higher-resolution version exists. 8192 pixels => 6001 pixels is a decent crop, in my opinion. The current best Canon camera available on the market (EOS-1D X Mark III) has a maximum of 5472 pixels. The larger resolution of this one offers freedom to choose a convenient framing afterwards.
