Hello!
[edit]I enjoy taking photos. From time to time, I travel — both privately and for work — and over the years I’ve built up quite a large collection of images. It would be a shame for them to simply disappear and go to waste one day, so I decided to upload those that might be useful to others to Wikimedia Commons, whether for use in Wikipedia articles or simply as standalone works.
I’m not a professional photographer, and I’m genuinely impressed by the skill and experience of people who are. I’m still learning myself, so I hope viewers will forgive any shortcomings. In fact, it’s only recently that I’ve started reading more about photography theory and consciously trying to correct the mistakes I make. Nevertheless, because of my work, I’ve had the opportunity to use a wide variety of photography equipment over the years, especially smartphones.
Recently, I replaced my old DSLR with a Canon R7. At the moment, however, I only have the basic 18–150 mm kit lens, so after a long break I’m essentially rediscovering photography with a dedicated camera all over again. We’ll see what the future brings.
When it comes to photography, there are two things I particularly enjoy: nature in the broadest sense and wide panoramic compositions. I’ve been stitching panoramas together for years and treat it as a kind of “hobby within a hobby.” I simply enjoy combining separate photographs into a single image — not only because of the technical process itself, but also because the finished results remind me of the places I’ve visited and serve as a kind of personal keepsake. I try to use the better ones to enrich relevant Wikipedia articles.
Some of my photos
[edit]Below you will find some of my photographs that, for one reason or another, are especially meaningful to me — either because I am pleased with how they turned out or because they are associated with fond memories. I will continue to add more over time, as I consider this page a collection of visual memories — like postcards from the past.
