Wiki Loves Earth 2022 - Deutschland

Hallo Ailura,

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. Mai bis zum 31. Mai 2022 findet zum zehnten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth statt. Deutschland ist bereits zum neunten Mal dabei. Dabei können unter anderem Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Geotope und Naturdenkmäler fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Seit dem vergangenen Jahr ist der Wettbewerb zweigeteilt, das heißt wir unterscheiden zwischen den beiden Bereichen Landschaft und Detail/Makro. Zu Landschaft zählen auch geschützte Einzelbäume. Im Bereich Detail/Makro werden Pflanzen, Tiere und Pilze bewertet.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Findlinge, Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. Auch im vergangenen Jahr sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, für die wir uns über Fotos freuen - zum Beispiel in Bayern Liste der Naturdenkmäler im Landkreis Würzburg oder in Sachsen Liste der Naturdenkmale in Stollberg/Erzgeb.

Als Einstieg für die Suche nach Motiven hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du bei WLE 2022 – Deutschland und unter dieser Anleitung.

In diesem Jahr feiert die FFH-Richtlinie ihren 30. Geburtstag. Aus diesem Grund vergeben wir fünf Sonderpreise für die Fotografen, die die meisten FFH-Gebiete fotografieren.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, vom 1. Mai bis 30. Juni 2022 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Damit bewertest du die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelst so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Juli tagen wird, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Earth 2022 in Deutschland. Das Vorjurytool ist bald hier freigeschaltet. Du benötigst dafür nur deinen Benutzernamen und das Passwort.

Category:Skulpturenpark Magdeburg

Ich habe gesehen, daß bei Deinen Bildern von Skulpturen dort der Lizenz-Baustein {{FoP-Germany}} fehlt. Da alle der dort gezeigten Künstler noch nicht 70 Jahre tot sind ist das nötig (2 hab ich schon gemacht), wir wollen doch Löschtrollen kein Futter bieten. Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

I hope you're well and enjoy taking photos for Wikimedia Commons. Here are a couple of quick updates on behalf of our group:

• Our next virtual meeting will take place on Saturday, August 27. At this point we have two presentations lined up:

• Suitable! Unsuitable! How to choose photos for a Wikipedia for children, “Klexikon” (Ziko)
• The aperture and its (less known) effects (XRay)

Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Sieger 2021 – Schloss Langenburg

Vergangenes Jahr hat Matthias Süßen mit einer Drohnenaufnahme von Schloss Langenburg im Morgennebel gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf wird dieses Jahr sein Nachfolger?

Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Cloppenburg oder in Oldenburg.

Wir haben dieses Jahr unter dem Motto „Klein aber Oho“ drei Sonderpreise für Kleindenkmale ausgelobt. Damit sollen Fotos prämiert werden, die die unterschätzten Kleindenkmale wie Grenzsteine oder Bildstöcke zeigen.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Anfang September 2022 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Question from the CPUG Board

Dear user group member,

I'm writing you to today on behalf of the board of the Commons Photographers User Group. The past year has been a busy one for us. In 2022, we've had more activities than ever before in the history of our group and you'll find an overview on our group's page.

With that being said, 2022 was also a year of learning for the current board members. Most of us hadn't been involved in running the Photographers User Group and we spent quite some time on getting used to our new roles. We all feel it was a steep learning curve.

That's why, at our last board meeting, we decided to ask our members whether they'd be ok with us serving for another year. Extending our board duties to the end of 2023 would allow us to continue the work we've started this year, and to benefit from the knowledge we've built over the past twelve months.

However, in the end, it's up to you and the other members of our group to decide whether such an extension of our board term should be granted. I invite you to voice your opinion on this page:

This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2023 findet zum dreizehnten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Vergangenes Jahr hat Radomianin mit einer Gesamtansicht von Kloster Paulinzella gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf oder welche Fotografin tritt dieses Jahr die Nachfolge an?

Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Waltershausen in Thüringen oder in Fulda.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Für das einfache Auffinden haben wir eine Upload-Karte erstellt, in der viele aber leider noch nicht alle Kulturdenkmale angezeigt werden können. Das Laden der Objekte dauert dort etwas.

Wir haben dieses Jahr „drei Sonderpreise für Bilder von Friedhöfen“ ausgelobt. Zugelassen sind für den Sonderpreis auch Fotos von Friedhöfen, die nicht denkmalgeschützt sind.

• December 15: Results announced

Flickypedia soft launch and a huge thank you

Dear fellow Commons photographer,

I hope this message finds you well. As you might already know, the Flickr Foundation has been busy creating a new Flickr-to-Commons bridge (“Flickypedia”) this year. After a successful demo at the GLAM Wiki Conference in Montevideo, the Flickr Foundation team is now inviting all members of the Commons Photographers User Group to be the first to review their alpha, reporting any technical issues or other feedback via the Flickypedia project talk page.

At the same time, this message is an opportunity for me to thank you for your trust and support over the past couple of years. Since 2017, we've grown into being one of the largest user groups in the Wikimedia universe. I've tremendously enjoyed interacting with all of our members when it came to joint photowalks at Wikimanias, virtual Zoom meetings where we covered a wide variety of photography topics, as well as our annual “Most memorable shot of the year”, among many other events. As I'm not running for an official position in our current board election, this will be my last message on behalf of the user group to you. Thanks for all the happy moments we shared together over the years! I hope you'll continue creating free images for the millions of people we serve through Wikipedia and Commons.

Wiki Loves Earth 2024 - Deutschland

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. Mai bis zum 30. Juni 2024 findet zum zwölften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth (kurz: WLE) statt. Dabei können wie immer Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Geotope und Naturdenkmäler oder andere Schutzgebiete fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Der Wettbewerb ist zweigeteilt, das heißt, wir unterscheiden zwischen den beiden Wettbewerbskategorien Landschaft und Detail/Makro. Zur Wettbewerbskategorie Landschaft zählen auch geschützte Einzelbäume. In der Wettbewerbskategorie Detail/Makro werden Pflanzen, Tiere und Pilze in den Schutzgebieten bewertet.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Findlinge, Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. Auch im vergangenen Jahr sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, die sich über Fotos freuen – zum Beispiel in Bayern die Liste der Naturdenkmäler im Landkreis Landshut oder die Liste der geschützten Landschaftsbestandteile in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mit ihren Unterlisten oder gar einzelne Artikel wie die Landschaftsschutzgebiete Sommerschafweide an Buchhalden und Sommerschafweide auf Hilbertswiese in Baden-Württemberg.

Wir vergeben in diesem Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Fotos von Feldrainen und Feldgehölzen in geschützten Gebieten.

I am writing this message to personally apologize for a disrespectful comment made in a tone of disregard, which was sent (I deleted it) in a Telegram group regarding the authenticity of the Commons photographers' group. I recognize that the manner in which the message was delivered was inappropriate, and I am prepared to accept any administrative actions that may result from this behavior, which I believe should not be tolerated either within or outside of the Wiki community. While there are no excuses for my conduct, I am sincerely remorseful. I am also undergoing a challenging period in my life for which I am currently receiving psychological support. Harry Wehrli

Hallo Ailura, du hast bei diversen Fotos aus Category:CH-NB-Photoglob-Wehrli die Category:Harry Wehrli hinzugefügt, obwohl in der Beschreibung ein anderer Fotograf oder "Fotograf unbekannt" angegeben ist. Beispiel. Steht da ein Plan hinter oder kann ich das wieder entfernen, wo es mir auffällt? Gruß, Sitacuisses (talk) 20:35, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Die Kategorie heißt Wehrli und das steht auch auf dem Wasserzeichen, das scheint ja zumindest der Rechteinhaber an den Bildern gewesen zu sein. Die Beschreibungen sind bei den Bildern die ich genauer angeschaut habe schlechter als die Wasserzeichen. Ailura (talk) 21:00, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Du hast wie gesagt Category:Harry Wehrli ergänzt, daneben gibt es auch Category:Gebrüder Wehrli, unter der ist bereits die gesamte Sammlung Category:CH-NB-Photoglob-Wehrli eingeordnet. Den Harry würde ich daher nur gesondert verwenden, wo er als Fotograf genannt ist. Dafür fände ich es aber noch geschickter, gleich eine Category:Photographs by Harry Wehrli einzurichten. Heute habe ich mich für eine GLAM-Veranstaltung Ende Juni in der Schweizer Nationalbibliothek angemeldet. Auf deren Artikelwunschliste stehen auch die Wehrli-Brüder. Ich habe mir ausgerechnet den Harry Wehrli herausgesucht (dachte auch, es sei ein Fotograf) und schon mal ein bisschen mit Vorarbeiten und Recherchieren angefangen. Dabei stieß ich auf eine gute Quelle (S. 10 links unten ff), in der es ausdrücklich heißt, dass nur die beiden Brüder Bruno und Artur Wehrli eine Ausbildung zum Fotografen absolvierten und auch die berühmten Fotos machten, und dass Harry das Geschäftliche übernahm und die Firma (bloß) leitete.

Als ich dann die gut gefüllte Commonscat mit "seinen" Bildern entdeckte, habe ich mich vorhin auch sehr gewundert. Im Moment weiß ich auch nicht so recht, wie ich damit umgehen soll. Hoffe, dass sich vor Ort im Gespräch mit den Leuten von der Bibliothek vielleicht einiges mehr herausfinden lässt. Dies nur erstmal Euch zur Info...viele Grüße Maimaid (talk) 17:54, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Vergangenes Jahr hat Rolf Kranz mit einer Winteransicht der Marksburg und der Schornsteine der Blei- und Silberhütte Braubach gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf oder welche Fotografin tritt dieses Jahr die Nachfolge an?

Nach WLM 2023 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel in Schenkenzell in Baden-Württemberg oder in Oyten in Niedersachsen.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Für das einfache Auffinden haben wir eine Upload-Karte erstellt, in der viele aber leider noch nicht alle Kulturdenkmale angezeigt werden können. Das Laden der Objekte dauert dort etwas.

Wir haben dieses Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Bilder zum Thema „Kinderwelten“ ausgelobt. Zugelassen sind für den Sonderpreis auch Fotos von Bauwerken, die nicht denkmalgeschützt sind. Dieser Sonderpreis wird gemeinsam mit dem Klexikon vergeben.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2023 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighteenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2023) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. Allerdings würde ich gerne wissen, welchen Hinweis Du darauf siehst, dass das Bild Österreich-Bezug hat bzw. genauer, inwieweit dessen Entstehung von Wikimedia Österreich unterstützt wurde (Seitenintrotext - Das schließt Fotowettbewerbe wie WikiDaheim, sämtliche geförderten Fotoprojekte und Einzelaktionen mit ein)? Dear Organizers, My name is Joris Darlington Quarshie (user: Joris Darlington Quarshie), and I am the Event Coordinator for the Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 (WLF) International campaign.

Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 is a photographic competition highlighting folk culture worldwide. The annual international photography competition is held on Wikimedia Commons between the 1st of February and the 31st of March. Speedy deletion

Hello, Ailura. I saw that you reverted my removal of a speedy delete request on File:20150726 1356 DM Leichtathletik Männer Diskuswurf 0432 (cropped).jpg. The reason you gave was G7. COM:CSD#G7 says:

Original author or uploader requests deletion of recently created (<7 days) unused content. For author/uploader requests for deletion of content that is older a deletion request should be filed instead.

Therefore G7 can't be used. That file was created less than 7 days ago, but the original uploader was Mirer, not you. ("Author" is used for pages that are not uploaded.) Changing fields in the file from another user name to yours doesn't change who uploaded it.

Your request has been declined by multiple admins. Please use regular deletion if you want the file deleted. If you think I'm missing something, please let me know what that is. Otherwise, please do not make the same request again. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 09:27, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

In this change, you added your user name to some of the fields. That doesn't change who the uploader was. I understand that someone else might have uploaded a file that belonged to you, but I think we'd need to have some documentation for that before deleting it. For me the guideline allows requesting G7 speedy deletion here. The original author requests the deletion of recently created content the crop is recently created when the original was uploaded does not matter. This does even apply to content uploaded from external authors. The only one who could challenge the speedy deletion is the uploader or someone who uses the file on some wiki. Delete it! I don't argue anymore with photographers who upload their pictures under a free license and then complain, when these are reused and altered. But for the record: With this revert[5] herself asked for the photo to be cropped and added to Wikidata. Maybe this effect was not intended, but in place and quite normal everyday business on commons and wikidata. Of course the attribution by the crop tool was correct too, as there was clearly stated, that it was a derived picture, as well as a clear link (with preview) to the source. There was no copyright "theft", as there exists none here with our media.

Since she does not seem to want that anymore and fights every crop (and deletes them in Wikidata too)[6], we have a bad picture there and will keep it, until a photographer takes a picture of this athlete who allows pictures unter CC-BY-SA to be altered and reused, as the licence normally enforces (everywhere but on commons at least ...). Fun fact: The WMAT supported this project ... What a waste of time from my side. Delete it and I try to remember not to crop pictures form this photographer again. --Mirer (talk) 16:10, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

I didn't say it was a copyright theft, in this discussion somebody suspected me not to be the author (but this was always clear). Viele dieser Kulturgüter sind als Immaterielles Kulturerbe gemäß der UNESCO-Konvention anerkannt. Du hast vergangenes Jahr teilgenommen. Der englische Begriff Folklore umfasst vieles, was man im Deutschen unter Folklore versteht, aber er geht noch weiter. Schau nach gelebten Traditionen und Bräuchen in deiner Nähe.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Festen sind es Handwerkstraditionen oder Gerichte und Getränke, die auf Fotos von dir warten. Als Orientierung helfen das Bundesweite Verzeichnis des immateriellen Kulturerbes oder Landeslisten wie das Inventar des immateriellen Kulturerbes von Nordrhein-Westfalen oder das Landesverzeichnis Immaterielles Kulturerbe Thüringen. Es fehlen unter anderem Bilder vom Barther Kinderfest, Taubenmarkt in Dermbach, Grasedanz im Harz, Bergsteigen in Sachsen, der Fertigung von Flachglas im Mundblasverfahren, der Fastnacht an der Saar und vom Viezen oder vom Tanz Zwiefacher.

Unter Events haben wir eine kleine Übersicht mit Veranstaltungen in Deutschland, die zum Immateriellen Kulturerbe gehören. Vielleicht findest du dort auch Motive für das nächste Jahr.

Wir vergeben in diesem Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Videos und Audiodateien, da sich viele Traditionen gut im Video oder per Tonaufnahme darstellen lassen.

Meeting with international Orga

Hallo Ailura, ich bin grad nicht daheim und mein Telefon hat sich jetzt wohl endgültig verabschiedet und ich bin nicht daheim.

Montag sollte das neue Telefon ankommmen, so dass wir ab Dienstag mit Tiven sprechen können. Mir würde ab Mittwoch jeder Tag ab 18 oder 19 Uhr passen. Wie sieht es bei dir aus?

auch in diesem Jahr beginnt am 1. Mai wieder der regionale Wettbewerb von Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) in Deutschland und läuft bis zum 30. Juni. Dabei können wie immer Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Landschaftsschutzgebiete und Naturdenkmäler oder andere Schutzgebiete fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Der Wettbewerb ist zweigeteilt, das heißt, wir unterscheiden zwischen den beiden Wettbewerbskategorien Landschaft und Detail/Makro. Zur Wettbewerbskategorie Landschaft zählen auch geschützte Einzelbäume. In der Wettbewerbskategorie Detail/Makro werden Pflanzen, Tiere und Pilze in den Schutzgebieten bewertet.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben als Naturdenkmal geschützten alten Bäumen oder den großen Nationalparks der Mittelgebirge und am Meer können auch kleine städtische Landschaftsschutzgebiete dokumentiert werden. Zu über 16.000 Naturdenkmalen und mehreren tausend Schutzgebieten haben wir noch keine Fotos. Wo noch Fotos fehlen, kannst du über die Karte oder die umfangreichen Listen in Wikipedia herausfinden.

In diesem Jahr wollen wir auch einen Fokus auf Geotope, wie Findlinge, Quellen oder Aufschlüsse, legen. Hierfür gibt es drei Sonderpreise zum Thema Geodiversität.

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2025 findet zum 15. Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Vergangenes Jahr hat GPSLeo mit dem Verladeturm Oderhafen Groß Neuendorf während eines Hochwassers gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf oder welche Fotografin tritt dieses Jahr die Nachfolge an?

Nach WLM 2024 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel in Greiz in Thüringen oder in Königslutter am Elm in Niedersachsen. Nachdem es in Thüringen über lange Zeit nicht überall Kulturdenkmallisten gab, ist dieses Bundesland jetzt fast vollständig abgedeckt und die Listen freuen sich über Fotos. Hier findest du einen Einstieg in die Thüringer Listen.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Für das einfache Auffinden haben wir eine Upload-Karte erstellt, in der viele aber leider noch nicht alle Kulturdenkmale angezeigt werden können. Das Laden der Objekte dauert dort etwas.

Wir haben dieses Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Bilder zum Thema „Bauernhöfe und Bauernhäuser“ ausgelobt.

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. Februar bis zum 31. März 2026 findet zum dritten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Folklore (kurz: WLF) in Deutschland statt. Mögliche Motive sind gelebte Traditionen wie Feste, Aufführungen, Tänze, Musiktradition, Brauchtum, Spiele, Küche, Tracht, Märchen und Sagen. Viele dieser Kulturgüter sind als Immaterielles Kulturerbe gemäß der UNESCO-Konvention anerkannt. Du hast in den vergangenen Jahren teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

• Siegerfotos von Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 in Deutschland
• 
  Nächtliche Feuershow mit einem „Feuerteufel“ bei einem Perchtenlauf in Bayern

Bei den drei Siegerbildern sind nur grandiose Motive aus Bayern dabei. Du kannst mit deinen Fotos helfen, Bayern vom Wiki-Loves-Folklore-Thron zu stoßen, du kannst aber auch dafür sorgen, dass Bayern den Titel erneut verteidigt.

Der englische Begriff Folklore umfasst vieles, was man im Deutschen unter Folklore versteht, aber er geht noch weiter. Schau nach gelebten Traditionen und Bräuchen in deiner Nähe.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Festen sind es Handwerkstraditionen oder Gerichte und Getränke, die auf Fotos von dir warten. Als Orientierung helfen das Bundesweite Verzeichnis des immateriellen Kulturerbes oder Landeslisten wie das Landesverzeichnis des Immateriellen Kulturerbes in Sachsen-Anhalt oder das Verzeichnis des Immateriellen Kulturerbes im Saarland. Es fehlen unter anderem Bilder vom Barther Kinderfest, Kulturformen der Nutzung bäuerlicher Gemeinschaftswälder im Steigerwald, Marktredwitzer Krippenkultur, Bad Dürrenberger Brunnenfest oder von der Fastnacht an der Saar.

Wir vergeben auch in diesem Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Videos und Audiodateien, da sich viele Traditionen gut im Video oder per Tonaufnahme darstellen lassen. Wir empfehlen, Videos kurz zu halten und sinnvoll zu schneiden.

I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.

Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!

Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

I hope you’re well and enjoy your time as a photographer on Wikimedia Commons. In my role of the new chair of the user group, I have a couple of updates to share with you.

After the election, the new board met for the first time on March 21 and immediately got to work. We elected the organization’s officers and decided to move from quarterly to monthly board meetings. We believe meeting more frequently will create more opportunities to serve our members effectively and help move the group forward.

We also successfully applied for a pre-conference at the upcoming Wikimania in Paris (July 21–25). If you’re planning to attend the conference, please consider joining us on July 21th for a day full of conversations about photography and Commons. Please sign up here if you’re interested.

And finally, it’s my pleasure to invite you to our first online meeting, which will take place on May 31.
